How common is Erectile Dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction is quite common and it occurs to the best of us! Although it is more prevalent in men over the age of 40, it can affect men of all ages.

Findings from the “Massachusetts Male Aging Study”, which was the widest survey of male erectile dysfunction composed, found that:

  • 52% of all men between the ages of 70 and 40 have varying degrees of erectile dysfunction (deemed as severe, moderate, or mild).
  • One in ten men are not able to achieve an erection whatsoever (complete ED).
  • The bulk of erectile dysfunction causes are by their very nature physical.
  • There is a strong association between erectile dysfunction and age – that is, the occurrence of ED increases along with age. (39% of men at 40 years of age are affected by ED whereas 67% of men at 70 years of age are affected by ED.) *
